July 2014

A man was talking to his next-door neighbor about a speaker he heard the night before at his church.  He told his neighbor this, "This preacher said something that has really stuck in my mind.  He said that all of the world’s problems could be summed up in two words: ignorance and apathy. What do you think?"

His neighbor replied, "I really don’t know and I really don’t care."

You and I live in a world that many times is clueless about Christ and the gospel and wishes to remain that way.  We live in a world where people don’t care about God and the things of God.  They remind me of cattle in a feed lot just eating and being content but unaware of what awaits them.

The Bible tells us in Acts 17:30 (ESV), “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.”  God commands men to repent but they don’t want to.  We are told in Isaiah 53:6, “each of us has turned to his own way.”  We are told in Romans 3:11 (NIV), “There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.”

So the world basically says this: "I really don’t know and I really don’t care."

But the Christians should never be among those who say, "I really don’t know and I really don’t care."

In fact the Bible says in Romans 10:14 (NLT), “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?  And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?  And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”

God wants us who know Him to tell those who really don’t know and really don’t care about Jesus and the gospel.

What about you?  Will you tell them?  We all need to.

                                                            In the Love of Christ,

                                                            Bro. Dudley
