Revival

Dear Church Family,

    As I think of the revival this past week there are some passages of Scripture that come to my mind one is found in Titus 2:14, “Who (Jesus) gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us ….. and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”  You and I are special to God, but we live in a world where our faith is challenged and opposed at every turn.  This world is critical of our faith and our relationship to Jesus.  In this world there is a spiritual warfare going on all the time.  God wants you to be all you can be in Christ Jesus and this world and the forces of darkness wants you to be the least you can be.  How are we to distinguish between who is speaking to us.  God always wants you to be faithful and committed to Him.  The Devil wants you to be uncommitted to God and the things of God.  The devil is always putting you down.  God wants to raise you up!  God wants you to be the light of the world.  The Devil wants you to cow in the darkness of this world.  God wants you to rejoice and see the potential of all that He can do in you and through you.  The Devil wants you to be depressed and discouraged.  God wants you to experience His light of Life.  The Devil wants you to be blind to God’s presence.

    There is a song I love that goes like this:

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;

When troubles come and my heart burdened be;

Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,

Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;

You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;

You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;

Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;

But when you come and I am filled with wonder,

Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

    What about you?  When was the last time you had a glimpse of eternity?  God is there, ready and willing to give it to you.  Don’t let the Devil and the things of this world take it away!

                    In the Love of Christ,
